Camden Falcons Code of Conduct – What It Means to Our Club

As we kick off another exciting football season here at Camden Falcons Football Club, it’s important to take a moment to remind everyone of our Code of Conduct and the core values that define us as a club.

What is the Code of Conduct?

The Camden Falcons Code of Conduct is a set of guidelines that ensure we all work together to create a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for everyone involved in the club. From coaches to players, managers to parents, and spectators, the Code of Conduct applies to everyone who steps onto the field, volunteers, or supports the club.

At CFFC, we believe that football is about more than just playing the game—it’s about fostering a community where respect, fairness, and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do.

Why Do We Need a Code of Conduct?

The main goal of the Code of Conduct is to make sure that all participants feel safe, valued, and respected. We understand that football can be competitive, and emotions can run high, but it’s important to keep things in perspective. We want our players, coaches, and families to have fun and develop both on and off the field.

As a community club, we thrive on the contributions of our volunteers, parents, and supporters. And while the majority of our Falcons family already upholds these values, we want to take a moment to reinforce that unacceptable behaviour—whether it’s abusive language, intimidation, or disrespect—will not be tolerated.

The Role of Coaches, Players, Parents, Managers, and Spectators

Everyone has a role to play in creating the positive atmosphere that Camden Falcons is known for. Here’s a quick breakdown of the expectations we have for each group:

• Coaches: You are the leaders and role models of our club. Your job is to create a positive learning environment, promote fair play, and treat all players with respect. Encourage the development of skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship over winning at all costs.
• Players: As a player, it’s important to respect the game, follow the rules, and give your best effort every time you step onto the field. Treat your teammates, coaches, and opponents with kindness and support. Football is about personal growth as much as it is about the team effort.
• Parents & Guardians: You are the foundation of the club! It’s crucial to support your child’s love for the game and their enjoyment—not just their success. Show positive behaviour on the sidelines, encourage your child, and let the coach do the coaching. Remember, your attitude sets the tone for the team!
• Managers: As the organisers behind the scenes, you play a big part in maintaining clear communication and ensuring that the team operates smoothly. It’s important that you support coaches and players, help with logistics, and ensure all players are treated fairly and with respect.
• Spectators: Support the players, respect the match officials, and cheer in a positive manner. Your enthusiasm is contagious and can lift the players’ spirits, but it’s important to remember that abusive language or behaviour has no place on our fields. Encourage the game, don’t disrupt it!

Enforcement of the Code

At Camden Falcons, we want to make it clear that inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. If bad behaviour arises, it will be dealt with swiftly and reported to the relevant authorities. This isn’t just about protecting the integrity of the game—it’s about ensuring the safety and well-being of our players, volunteers, and the entire community.

We also encourage open communication. If you have any concerns or need advice, our Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) is available to support you. They are your first point of contact for addressing issues related to inappropriate behaviour or conduct.
