10 Aug Generous Community Support
A Generous Show of Support for Camden Falcons
Camden Falcons President Cindy Fielder attended Camden RSL on Friday evening to receive a generous donation that will be held in the Falcons Future Fund to support the club as it recovers and looks towards the future.
Cindy was presented with a donation cheque by President of Camden RSL Club Limited, Chris Metcalf alongside Falcons Life Members Ken and Margret Bell and Gwen Gibson. Through the generous support of its members and community, Camden RSL raised $4,456.40 for Camden Falcons.
During the evening, Cindy was also humbled to receive a donation of $2,000 from the grandfather of local referee Chloe Gray, who has progressed through the football pathway to become an accomplished referee officiating at high levels within Football NSW.
The evening provided a special opportunity for Cindy to hear stories from Ken, Margret and Gwen about the club’s early years and their involvement in building the original Falcons Nest Clubhouse some 40 years ago.
Their memories served as a powerful reminder of the dedication, volunteer spirit and community connections that have shaped Camden Falcons across generations.
Reflecting on the evening, Cindy said she was humbled by the generosity shown by both donors and by what their contributions represent for the wider Camden community.
As important as the clubhouse is, it is the friendships, memories and sense of belonging created through the club that make Camden Falcons so special.
“As important as the clubhouse is, it is the friendships, memories and sense of belonging created through the club that make Camden Falcons so special,” she said.
The evening also provided an opportunity to reflect on the club’s beginnings, with Camden Falcons originally established as Camden RSL Soccer Club before evolving into the community club we know today.
Camden Falcons sincerely thanks Camden RSL, Chris Metcalf, the anonymous donor, and everyone who contributed to the fundraising effort for their incredible generosity and support.
These contributions will help the club continue to rebuild, meet its future needs and provide a strong foundation for generations of Falcons to come.
