Here to stay. Here to build

Here to stay. Here to build

Here to Stay. Here to Build.

The Falcons Football Pathway Is Growing.
There is a lot to be excited about at Camden Falcons Football Club.
As we look towards 2027, one thing is clear: Technical Director Brendan Sammut is here to stay — and he is here to build.
Since joining Falcons in late 2025 for the 2026 season, Brendan has helped establish a strong football direction across our MYL and M-League programs, with a focus on developing players, building competitive teams with qualified coaches and creating a genuine pathway through the club.
Brendan along with Sal Barone & David Selvon in their first season saw our M-League Colts finish second in the competition and are now playing finals football. Along with our U16 and U18 MYL Boys who are also playing finals football.
But the results are only part of the story.
Throughout the season, Falcons junior players have had opportunities to train and play up through age groups, experience different coaching environments and challenge themselves against older players.
That is exactly what we want our pathway to provide.
One Pathway. One Football Program.
Our vision is to create a clear football journey at Camden Falcons:
MYL → M-League Colts → Reserve Grade → First Grade
Pending licence approval, plans are already underway to bring Reserve and First Grade into the Falcons M-League program.
This creates opportunities for our developing MYL players to continue progressing through the club, with the ultimate goal of representing Falcons at senior level.
A number of Falcons players also stepped up to play with older age groups throughout the 2026 season. We’ve recognised these players at the end of the post.
“I’m really excited about what we are building at Camden Falcons,” said Technical Director Brendan Sammut. “We have talented players coming through, a strong football community and people who are committed to doing things properly.”
“For me, it’s about creating a pathway where players can develop, challenge themselves and ultimately have the opportunity to play senior football here at Falcons. We want to be competitive, but we also want to develop players who understand the game, play with confidence and have the freedom to express themselves.”
Developing Players, Not Just Teams.

Our ambition goes beyond building winning sides.
We want to develop skills, football intelligence, leadership, confidence and creativity, while creating a strong and recognisable style of football across our pathway.
Our qualified coaches, supported by the Technical Director and Director of Football, are working together to provide the structure, resources and support needed to help our players and coaches grow.
Club President Cindy Fielder says the commitment to the football program is an important part of the club’s future.
“We want Camden Falcons to be a club where players can see their future,” said Cindy. “Whether they are starting in our junior pathway or working towards senior football, we want them to know there is a place for them to develop and progress here.”
“Brendan shares that vision, and we are really excited to have him continuing with Falcons as we build towards the future.”
A New Chapter
The club has faced plenty of challenges over the past year, but we are finishing the season looking forward and rebuilding what was lost.

As our clubhouse comes down and work continues at Belgenny Reserve, our playing surface is also receiving some long-awaited upgrade.
With the major ground upgrade scheduled to get underway in September, we are looking towards 2027 with a refreshed home and an ambitious football program ready to take another step forward with trials to be held at Nugget Beames Reserve in November 2026.
A stronger pathway. A clear football vision. A committed Technical Director. More opportunities for our players.
Brendan is here to stay.
The Falcons are here to build.
And there are big things coming in 2027.
We can’t wait.

A big congratulations to the following Falcons players who stepped up to play with older age groups during the 2026 season. It’s fantastic to see our players embracing the opportunity to challenge themselves and continue their development.
