05 Mar Pre-Season Update
2026 Season Loading… Camden Falcons Are Ready!
The countdown is officially on, Falcons family! The 2026 Winter season is just around the corner and there’s a real buzz around the grounds. Boots are being dusted off, shin pads are being located (under the bed, in the car boot), and volunteers are running on coffee and pure community spirit.
Behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard to strengthen our football pathways and give our players every opportunity to grow and thrive in 2026. We’re excited to welcome Brendan Sammut as our Technical Director. A B-Licenced coach, Brendan will coach our M-League Colts while also overseeing and mentoring our qualified Junior MYL coaches. His leadership brings valuable experience and a strong development focus to our competitive pathway. We’re also proud to have nine teams competing in the top tier of the Macarthur Football Association competition this season — a fantastic achievement for a community club.
Joining us as Head of the Junior Program is Connor Price, also a B-Licenced coach, who will guide and support our older MiniRoos and Junior coaches in developing their players and unlocking potential across the club. To further support our coaching community, we’ve hosted (and continue to host) the MFA-run Foundations of Football course at our Clubhouse — because when our coaches grow, our players grow too.
Mark your calendars, because the action kicks off soon. Our M-League Colts officially start on 14 March 2026, although we have a Round 1 bye and will take the field for our first match on 21 March. Our first home game will be on Saturday 28 March at 5:00pm — a great opportunity to get down to the grounds and show your support. MiniRoos, Juniors (12+) and Seniors begin from 10 April 2026… yes, right in the middle of the school holidays. You’re welcome
Of course, before the first whistle blows, there’s a mountain of work happening behind the scenes. Our Registrar, Chris, is busy assigning players to teams and coordinating competitions with MFA. Training grids are being carefully mapped across Belgenny Reserve, Nugget Beams Reserve and Onslow Oval. Gear is being ordered, MiniRoos and Junior kit bags are being packed, shirts sorted, and uniform days organised. It’s a hive of activity, all with one goal in mind — making sure our players and families have the best possible experience. We’re especially focused on keeping Belgenny Reserve in top condition so that come game day, our fields are pristine and ready for action.
Training is already underway for our M-League Colts, MYL and Junior competitive teams, with MiniRoos training kicking off from 16 March once field availability and training kits are finalised. Coordinating training spaces across multiple grounds is a little like playing a giant game of Tetris — but with cones — so we appreciate everyone’s patience as schedules are confirmed.
A friendly reminder that Falcons merchandise can be ordered online anytime, with free pick-up at the Clubhouse or the Stanno Pop-Up Mini Shop for orders placed before 28 March 2026. The Stanno Pop-Up Shop will be at the Clubhouse on Saturday 11 April 2026, giving families the chance to stock up and try on gear before the season hits full swing. Keep an eye on our social media for Uniform Shop opening times.
Our Coaches and Managers will receive a comprehensive Information Booklet and be supported by a Volunteer Communications Coordinator for real-time updates on weather, training and game days. If you’re a Coach or Manager and haven’t already done so, please ensure you’re registered at playfootball.com.au and have arranged your WWCC. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
If your player is looking for additional development close to home, A1 Football Academy is offering a special discount for Camden Falcons families. Simply mention you’re part of the Falcons when registering for their term-based programs, delivered by qualified coaches and focused on building strong junior pathways.
Most importantly, none of this happens without our volunteers. Camden Falcons wouldn’t exist without the passion and dedication of the people who give their time so generously. Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet new people, build skills and be part of something bigger than yourself. If you’re interested in helping out this season, we’d love to hear from you and find a role that suits you.
Camden Falcons is, and always will be, a proud, family-friendly community club. From MiniRoos taking their very first touches to Seniors leading by example, every player, volunteer and supporter plays a part in shaping our culture.
Thank you for being part of the Falcons family. We can’t wait to see the sidelines packed, hear the cheers around the grounds, and watch those goals hit the back of the net.
Here’s to a fantastic 2026 season.
Go Falcons! 🦅
